Quesco Brasil has excelled in providing essential support services to internationally renowned clients, notably television and radio broadcasters in their operations at major sporting events. These projects have included: BBC Sport broadcast operation for the preparation and extensive coverage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup (team of 12 Quesco fixers) and 2013 Confederations Cup (5 Quesco fixers) in Brazil and 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Quesco also provided a team of 60 local fixers, runners and drivers to BBC Sport, Channel Seven (Australia) and Channel Four (UK) at the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. The local fixer’s job involves tackling tasks that often vary significantly from day to day and from job to job. The fixer is responsible for resolving any potential and spontaneous problems that arise in order to allow the client to conclude his or her work at the operation location smoothly as possible. Often beginning before clients have arrived in the country and continuing to follow-up work required after they have left, this role involves an array of activities, including:
– project planning, including setting up meetings, interviews or events, film locations etc., booking hotels and arranging transport
– consultancy, providing or obtaining essential local information
– accompanying individuals or groups working and/or traveling in and around the country, procuring and coordinating with local drivers and other key services
– translating and interpreting whenever required
– providing advice on everyday needs, such as eating options, as well helping to bridge any cultural gaps
– researching locations to ensure the group’s security at all times
